Inspiring Songs with Extraordinary Lyrics

There are many songs of this era that go by unnoticed. They are interestingly extra-ordinary. It is a pity that this generation fails to notice the prowess of the lyricists and the music directors always steal the show. Elders prefer to avoid these songs and begin comparing with yesteryear melodies. Personally, I have no bias towards any of the eras' songs. I am in love with language and here in this part I would like to show some great songs written by our lyricists.

Film:Kshana Kshanam
Song:Jumbaaye

While most people recollect Jamurathri song for its melody, there is another song that is not just wonderful for its music composition. A second look at the lyrics can leave you astounded. Going from the situation in the film, not much of emotions and expressions are necessary. The lyrics writer, if I am not mistaken, Sirivennela has done a great job.

Look at the charanam part of the song and you will be amazed at the way in which words are written. It carries the usual Sirivennela style of playing with small words and coming up with new and innovative songs.

Charanam 1 and Charanam 2 are included here and I really love the lyrics.

CHARANAM 1
andhisthunna vagarae, chiru chigurae thodigae
chindhisthunna sirulae, maga sirulae adigae

rammantunna yadhalo thummedhalae palikae
jummantunna kalalo vennelalae chilikae

gala gala mani tharagala thargani kala kadhilina kadhalivilae
kala kala mani kulukula alukalugani chilikina sudhalivilae

cheluvanu gani kaluvala cheluvulu gani niluvani manasidhilae
aluperugani alarula alalanu gani thalupulu thelipina valapula gelupidhilae
thalapadakika thappadhulae

CHARANAM 2
ookottindhi adavae mana godavae vintoo

jokottindhi vodilo uravadilae kantoo

immantundhi yedho yedhedho manasu
themmantundhi yentho neekantha thelusu

aravirisina thalapulu kurisanu kala kalisina manasulalo
purivirisina valapunu thelipanu kadha pilupula malupulalo

yadha kosaraga visiranu madhuvula vala adhirina pedhavulalo
jatha kudharaga musiranu alakala ala chilakala palukulu chilikina chinukulalo
tholakari sirijallulalo

Here is a master lyricist who really plays with words and yet comes up with a meaningful song.
